EVN Supply marked 10 years in the energy market

In a pleasant atmosphere, accompanied by the beautiful violin sounds of Trinity Strings, the talented Ana Petanovska and the energetic Gjoko Taneski, in the company of friends, associates, partners from the private sector, institutions, the media and the diplomatic corps, EVN Supply celebrated a decade of market operations. Among the attendees was the Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources Sanja Bozinovska, the President of the Regulatory Commission for Energy, Water Services and Municipal Waste Management Services Marko Bislimovski, the President of the Economic Chamber Branko Azeski and the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria H.E. Martin Palmer. In the authentic setting of Kamnik winery near Skopje, the Chairman of the Management Board of EVN Wolfgang Maier greeted the attendees, expressing gratitude for the long-term partnership and cooperation. The managers of EVN Supply Roland Ziegler and Berkant Shen also addressed the audience. We discuss the significance of this jubilee with Mr. Ziegler and Mr. Shen.



EVN Supply celebrates 10 years of its existence. What are the main benefits that the company offers to the Macedonian market?
Ziegler: EVN Supply has been a leading company in the liberalized electricity market for 10 years and has contributed to the development of the market and the establishment of high standards in the energy sector through its operations. As a member of EVN Group, which has around 4.5 million customers in several markets in Southeast Europe, EVN Supply provided great experience, expertise and quality services that enabled our clients to devote themselves to their development, and to leave the supply of electricity energy to a stable and reliable partner. Since the start of our activity, we created an offer that matched the needs of our partners. Even today, after 10 years, we can proudly say that we have not only maintained the high quality of our services, but we are also continuously upgrading them according to market requirements.

What are the benefits for the customers? What is the daily communication with them like?
Shen: EVN Supply has over 45% market share, or 3,600 customers supplied with electricity. Direct communication and analysis of our clients' needs is our daily approach that sets us apart in the market. The needs of the companies are taken care of by key account managers, who are distributed by geographical regions. Each of them knows the individual specifics of each of the companies and is available to them 24 hours, 365 days a year. Although we have a large number of companies, we know their needs exactly and we are constantly working on improving the offer and creating solutions that will meet and exceed their expectations and help in their development. In our portfolio there are companies from all segments and with this approach we directly help the development of the national economy. Our experienced teams, based on a preliminary analysis, create solutions tailored to the customers, and in this way our partners increase the efficiency of their operations, reduce costs and become more competitive in the market where they market their products and services.





EVN Supply is also very active in the electromobility segment. What has been done so far in this area?
Ziegler: One of the things that gives us a serious competitive advantage in the market is the additional services we offer, such as energy efficiency, in which we create solutions for our partners that reduce electricity consumption; additionally, EVN Supply as a virtual producer, enables centralized management of producers of electricity from renewable sources connected to the electricity distribution grid, in order to optimize costs, and of course electromobility occupies a significant place in additional services. In that direction, in cooperation with the municipalities, we built a serious infrastructure for electromobility with over 50 chargers in 17 cities across the country, 21 of which in the territory of the City of Skopje. Electric chargers have been placed on public areas, in hotels and shopping malls, which created conditions for greater use of electric vehicles and greater protection of the environment. Our efforts continue with a strong focus on fast chargers, as the main prerequisite for facilitated mobility of electric vehicles over longer distances. The fast chargers have DC connectors with output power of 150kW and are among the most efficient in their class, enabling fast and easy charging in 30-40 minutes depending on the type of vehicle. Thanks to the cooperation with Makpetrol, a total of 10 fast chargers will be installed on the main roads by the end of 2024, which will make it possible to travel through and around Macedonia with an electric vehicle. Green energy and the acceleration of the energy transition are big topics in energy. But in order for the changes to happen, each of us has to make our own contribution. EVN Supply and the entire EVN Group work a lot on this process. Electric mobility is one of those areas in which we want to make a serious contribution and encourage even greater development.

What are the future plans?
Ziegler: Changes in the market are dynamic, and we and our teams are ready to follow them and work on new services that will meet the needs of customers. One thing will be the same in the future; EVN Snabduvanje remains a safe and reliable partner. We have stable market position, and our plans for further market expansion are already yielding results.
With an installed capacity of over 180 MW and over 300 GWh of green electricity produced annually from domestic sources, we add new value to the company and we do not stop, we continue to work on the implementation of all the innovations in the electricity market.

What can partners expect?
Shen: Most of our partners have been with us for a decade and our cooperation continues in the coming period as well. It is a great confirmation of the quality of the services we offer on the market.
